PROPOSAL TYPES
Proposal types are used as [tags] in proposal titles for quick identification of its purpose and level of impact. Learn more about proposal types here (link).
VOTING AND PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS
All voting will be off-chain through Snapshot. Your voting power is calculated from your CGG balance at the timestamp or block on which the Snapshot poll was taken. 1 CGG token = 1 VP.
Low Impact Proposal Types
- Tags: RFC, COMM, ELECT, MISC
- Must pass a forum Discussion and a Proposal Vote
- Minimum 10k CGG to create proposal
- Minimum 1000 CGG to vote
- 350k CGG Quorum (Guardian’s Promise allows soft quorum at +90% voting and 75% of quorum)
High Impact Proposals Types
- Tags: Treasury, GIP, GOV, MISC
- Minimum 50k CGG to create proposal
- Minimum 1000 CGG to vote (v2.0 = 10k CGG)
- 2.5M CGG for Quorum (1.5%) (Guardian’s Promise allows soft quorum at +90% voting and 70% of quorum)
- Must pass a forum Discussion, a Draft Review Vote, and a Proposal Vote.
Important
All voting will be off-chain through Snapshot. Any significant edits to Draft Review and Proposal posts require a 24 hour review period.
PROPOSAL PHASES
Phase 1 (Discussion) - The Discussion phase is used to gauge the general sentiment of an idea and to easily identify any harmful or risky actions.

Start a new topic in the Discussion Section.

Minimum of 3 days for discussion period.

Original posters must post a message on the thread, signaling their escalation to the next phase.

Low impact proposals can skip the Draft Review phase.
Phase 2 (Draft Review)- Used for community feedback on draft proposals.

Start a new topic in the Draft Review Section.

Only create a draft proposal if community activity and consensus is sufficient in the previous phase.

Minimum of 2 days review and 4 day voting period.

The CGG balance recorded at the time of Snapshot will be used for voting.
Phase 3 (Proposals/Governance) - Used for final review of formalized proposals.

Start a new topic in the Proposal/Governance Section.

Minimum of 3 days final review.

Low impact proposals in this phase require a voting period of 4 days .

High impact proposals in this phase require a voting period of 7 days .

The CGG balance recorded at the time of Snapshot will be used for voting.

After the voting period ends, the proposal will be marked as “Closed” and the voting results will be posted. Results will be available on the Governance portal (link).
If the Proposal passes it then must go through a 2 day failsafe period for catching any possible harmful actions missed during the final Phase.

After the failsafe period, councils will sign any necessary actions and the CG team will begin execution.

If a vote fails to pass in this phase then the user must wait 30 days before resubmission.

In the rare case that a Proposal’s results must be rejected or nullified the Proposal will be closed as a rejected proposal. The user must go through the process again starting with a post in the Forum, if they did not intentionally submit a harmful proposal.
